A little about me, I currently live in Belgrade, MT. I have a dog named Waffles and a horse named Chick. I'm an avid outdoors woman, I believe in whole foods, quality products and quality people. I have an endless list of hobbies, some of them include experimenting with new foods, fishing, hunting, horseback riding, dog training, dancing, painting, writing, reading (who else is obsessed with the Wheel of Time series?).
My goal in life is to surround myself with people who push me to be my best self and to empower those people around me to do the same. As a small business I hope to be able to help other businesses around me to empower each other and keep those lights on!
I've always had a strong drive to create. Over the last few years I have been discovering trade secrets, new skills and optimal techniques. Soon enough I will be sharing some of those secrets with you here! Stay tuned.
I started my career as a cobbler. I made high end pack boots for our local hunter, fisherman, forager, farmer. Boots that were made to last everyday wear and tear. Boots that traveled much farther than your average pillow or chair. Once I mastered the cobbler craft, I decided to try my hand in the custom furniture field. Upholstery, hand sewing and re-upholstery really became an obsession. Combining the durability of high use items such as pack boots, with the craftsmanship of custom furniture is my goal. I want to create items that will last with everyday use. Pieces that you are proud to have in your home. A couch or chair that can hold up to movie nights with your kids, lazy days with your honey, dog pile on the sofa or full on pillow fights. Pieces you can pass on to your kids.
My favorite project of all time, is a set of pillows. The reason it is my favorite is because of the stories. The fabric for the pillows was made out of an old beaver jacket from the 1920's. The client's mom had owned the jacket. She had recently passed away and this jacket was collecting dust and degrading the in the closet. Losing its impact, its structure, its story, every day. No one saw it so no one thought about it. This once prized possession was now a lint trap that she couldn't give away, couldn't sell, couldn't bear to part with, but also couldn't use.
I kept the pockets intact, reinforced seams weakened by time, kept the original care instructions and every piece that could be salvaged was. I felt so empowered by this project. When my client picked the pillows up she had tears in her eyes. I had found my purpose in that project. Those four small pillows, they changed my career forever. Making a lasting, heirloom piece that will bring that much joy to each and everyone of you. That is my goal.
My personal home is filled with pieces given to me by family and friends. Some items I have redone, some will stay old for as long as possible. Paintings made by my grandfather, postcards from Germany, all of the little things that lighten my heart. Things I love. I want to spread that love, that feeling of waking up in your home, with your memories and the memories of your family.
